Drug Addiction

Drug addiction is a problem that has been increasing immensely among our society today. Drug addictions can only hinder or restrain us from accomplishing goals or dreams in life. People sometimes feel they are too bright, too powerful, too much in control to become addictive. Addiction can trap anyone. It can lead to harming ones body, causing problems in family structure, and contribute to the delinquency in society. The sooner people seek help for drug addiction problems, the more chances they have of gaining control of their life once again. However, abstinence is the safest way to live a longer and healthier life. We are greatly influenced by the people around us. Today one of the number one reasons of teenage drug usage is peer pressure. Peer pressure represents social influences that affect us. It can have a positive or a negative effect, depending on what path one follows. Drugs have harmful effects on people. For example, students who use drugs may do poorly in school or even drop out. Adults might have trouble with their work performance and maintaining employment. In addition, social relationships regardless of age could suffer.  Individuals may act on at risky behaviours while under the influence of drugs which can result in violence and infectious diseases. Drug use can alter the function and structure of the brain. Other medical problems which can result of drugs use are: Mental disorders, cardiovascular disease, stroke, HIV/AIDS, cancer, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and lung disease and Death just to name a few. Pregnant women who use drugs endanger the health of their unborn child. The child could be born prematurely, have a low birth weight and have trouble with both intellectual development and behaviour. In conclusion, say no to drugs.

Flood

  Flood

In the middle of December 2014,  it was raining heavily followed by flash floods forcing the residents of Kelantan and  Terengganu to flee their homes. By 23rd of December, most rivers in Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu and Perak had reached dangerous levels. These horrendous flash floods had took many people's lives away.

This tragic incident made me realised how fortunate I am. I am pleased to hear that people in Malaysia are willingly to lend a helping hand to people who were affected by the flood by donating money and food. Overall this incident is not only a tragedy to the people but the whole country and i hope the government of Malaysia will do something about it and help those in need.
