Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year

Valentine's Day is celebrated on the 14th of February around the world. It's a day when everyone celebrates their love with their other half. To be honest, you shouldn't just show your affection to your loved ones on that day itself instead you should cherish their love everyday of your life. People tend to complain that they are lonely on Valentine's Day. I think they should be grateful because majority people do not realise that there are people that do not have mother on Mother's Day or father on Father's Day.

I've always enjoyed my Chinese New Year maybe because of the food and the amount of red packets I've received. Furthermore, Chinese New Year is the time of the year when you get to spend time with your relatives. The only thing that I dislike about Chinese New Year is family argument and it never fails to happen. Sometimes my parents will compare me with their friend's children. I know they are trying to make me as a better person but they'll never know how hurtful it is to hear how your parents say that you are not good enough for them; you'll never better than other kids; you're just a disappointment to the family. So i hope that this Chinese New Year will be different because this thing is tearing my family apart.

26th of April

26th of April

Did you know on the 26th of April 1865 American Civil War: Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston surrenders his army to General William Tecumseh Sherman at theBennett Place near Durham, North Carolina. Also the date of Confederate Memorial Day for two states and Union cavalry troopers corner and shoot dead John Wilkes Booth, assassin of President Lincoln, in Virginia. John Wilkes Booth was an American stage actor who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theatre, in Washington, D.C. Besides that, on the 26th of April 1965 a Rolling Stones concert in London, Ontario is shut down by police after 15 minutes due to rioting. A famous actor was born on the 26th of April 1980 and that actor is Channing Tatum. That's right! He is known for his portrayal of the character Greg in the 20012 comedy film 21 Jump Street and its 2014 sequel 22 Jump Street.

Mood

 Mood

What is mood? A mood is an emotional state. Moods differ from emotions in that they are less specific, less intense, and less likely to be triggered by a particular stimulus or event. Moods generally have either a positive or negative valence. In other words, people typically speak of being in a good mood or a bad mood. Mood also differs from a feeling that is conveyed to the reader in a literary work. It is also synonymous with the atmosphere created in the literary piece. The writer can develop mood through word choice, dialogue, sensory details, description, and plot complications. The mood conveyed in a literary piece can be a variety of feelings, for instance: mysterious, happy, calm, reckless, humorous and other. Positive mood can be caused by many different aspects of life as well as have certain effects on people as a whole. Good mood is usually considered a state without an identified cause; people cannot pinpoint exactly why they are in a good mood. People seem to experience a positive mood when they have a clean slate, have had a good night sleep, and feel no sense of stress in their life. On the other hand, negative moods can affect an individual’s judgment and perception of objects and events. Negative moods are labeled as nonconstructive because it can affect a person’s ability to process information. It is important to feel something and having different mood even if it's a bad one.
